This is my personal website which includes details on my portfolio of interests as a visiting university lecturer, researcher, executive trainer, independent adviser, speaker, author and commentator on private equity & venture capital. I am a chartered accountant and a chartered marketer with a technology background and a passion for venture capital and all things entrepreneurial.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

My aim is to help to improve the transparency of the private equity and venture capital asset class, making it understandable to all through my books and guides, lectures, seminars and training courses. I also help people to enter the sector either as graduates or those transitioning from other careers. My principal research is in the area of the investment practices of venture capital firms in UK, continental Europe and USA. A video on my recent research into venture capital investment practices, from a talk I gave at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, can be seen here:\u00a0 https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?<\/a> At Henley Business School, University of Reading I have also been researching the investment practices of Chinese venture capital firms in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Chester Business School.
