This is my personal website which includes details on my portfolio of interests as a visiting university lecturer, researcher, executive trainer, independent adviser, author and commentator on private equity & venture capital. I am a chartered accountant and a chartered marketer with a technology background and a passion for venture capital and all things entrepreneurial.

My aim is to help to improve the transparency of the private equity and venture capital asset class, making it understandable to all through my books and guides, lectures, seminars and training courses. I also help people to enter the sector either as graduates or those transitioning from other careers. My principal research is in the area of the investment practices of venture capital firms in UK, continental Europe and USA. Prior to pursuing a portfolio career, I was with PricewaterhouseCoopers for 28 years where latterly, as European Venture Capital Leader and Business Development Director for the Global Technology Industry Group, I led the production of a number of reports on activity in the venture capital industry and guidance for the entrepreneur on venture capital as well as leading marketing, thought leadership and business development activity for early-stage and global technology companies in Europe.
