The Worshipful Company of Marketors
Keith Arundale is a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Marketors. He became a Freeman of the Company in 1997, Freeman of the City of London in 1998, Liveryman of the Company in 1998, Treasurer of the Company and of the Company’s Charitable Trust in 2001 (to 2005), Court Assistant of the Company in 2001, Junior Warden in 2004, Middle Warden in 2005, Senior Warden in 2006 and Master in 2007. Keith is a former trustee of the Company’s Charitable Trust. He is currently the Mais Past Master for the Marketors, a position so named after Lord Mais who was Lord Mayor of the City of London in 1972/73 and Master Marketor in 1984. Keith’s role is that of a non-executive adviser to the Master and Wardens of the Marketors.

The Worshipful Company of Marketors is one of the modern City Livery Companies. It was founded as a Guild in 1975 and presented with Letters Patent in 1978 as the 90th Company on the City Roll of Livery Companies. A Royal Charter for the Company was approved at a meeting of the Privy Council held in Windsor in April 2010. The Company is governed by the Court of Assistants. Each year the Court elects from its members a Master, Senior, Middle and Junior Wardens. The Court is responsible for policy, strategy and the overall management of the Company.
The Company’s mission is to be the City Livery Company for leaders in marketing. The company fulfils this mission through its five aims:

To encourage excellence in marketing education and practice

To promote marketing as a force for economic and public benefit

To support the City of London and the Mayoralty

To raise funds for and be involved in charitable work

To foster fellowship and discussion among members.
Commencing in his year as Master in 2007 Keith initiated and then project managed the Company’s successful application for a Royal Charter which was granted in 2010. He chaired the Court Nominations Committee for four years and was Lead Almoner of the Company for three years. During his year as Master, Keith and his wife, Kathy, organised a visit to Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania, USA for the Marketors in November 2007 to celebrate a typical USA Thanksgiving. Keith and Kathy first met in Pittsburgh when Keith was on an international tour of duty in the city with Price Waterhouse. Keith is also a Liveryman of the Chartered Accountants’ Company ( https://accountantslivery.org ), a member of Coleman Street Ward Club, a member of the 007 Past Masters’ Association (for those who were Masters of City Livery Companies in 2007) and a Freeman of the City of London. Kathy is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Nurses where she is also Almoner (https://www.companyofnurses.co.uk/about-us/almoner/ ) and is a Freeman of the City of London.
